We are thrilled to announce that Bristow Proffitt is growing! Our team now includes two studios working closely together, each led by our passionate founding partners.

PILAR PROFFITT STUDIO will specialize in interiors that evoke both a sense of newness and familiarity.

ROBERT BRISTOW STUDIO will focus on architecture rooted in materials, process, and making. 

Both Pilar and Rob will continue designing and creating furniture and artwork, which you’ll see featured in many of their projects. We’re looking forward to this new chapter and the innovative work that lies ahead!

Pilar proffitt

Pilar Proffitt is an interior designer/artist whose work blurs the boundaries between architecture, interiors, and art. Her eponymous design studio is known for creating meaningful/eclectic interiors and furnishings that strike a balance between the familiar and the new. While trained as an architect, Pilar’s work is guided by intuition and experimentation—pairing comfort and warmth with moments of unexpected delight.

Her current projects include a hotel in New York City, a personal sanctuary in the Bahamas, a rural Connecticut retreat, and a winery in Upstate New York- each reflecting her ability to create immersive, harmonious environments.
